AVO Uvezian would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2026, and the AVO Expresivo marks a new chapter for the brand, departing from the classic blends enthusiasts have come to know. Released in the summer of 2026, the Expresivo is the first AVO blend produced at Davidoff’s Honduran factory, featuring premium Nicaraguan tobaccos finished with an Ecuadorian wrapper.
The AVO Expresivo features a mahogany-brown, toothy wrapper with a subtle oily sheen. Densely packed without feeling overly firm, the cigar has a substantial, well-constructed feel in the hand.
The cigar opens with red pepper flakes, leather, and rich coffee, complemented by maple syrup and buttery sweetness. Notes of roasted cashews, cocoa-dusted almonds, cinnamon, and toffee add depth, while cedar, paprika, and subtle herbal and floral undertones round out the profile. Graham cracker, bread, and a touch of sweet cream contribute to a flavorful opening with a clean finish.
Dark, bold coffee moves to the forefront alongside leather, earth, and cinnamon graham crackers. The initial red pepper transitions to white pepper, while milk chocolate, maple syrup, and baking spices provide a balanced sweetness. Toasted nuts, salted popcorn, cedar, and hints of amaretto emerge, with a subtle minty undertone as the flavors deepen and the finish lengthens.
The final third develops a warm, woody profile with a jalapeño-like spice and subtle saltiness. Rich espresso, walnuts, and dense brown bread bring a hearty character, while molasses and butterscotch introduce a darker, creamy sweetness. White and black pepper provide a gentle kick, leading into a rich, smooth, and lingering finish.
The AVO Expresivo Toro delivers a refined, flavorful smoking experience with impressive balance and complexity. Its buttery sweetness, bold coffee notes, and evolving spices create a cohesive profile without becoming overpowering. Excellent construction, outstanding smoke production, a firm ash, and a razor-sharp burn line requiring no touch-ups further elevate the experience. A box-worthy cigar that offers plenty of flavor without excessive strength, making it an excellent choice for an afternoon smoke or after-dinner enjoyment.
